This 33-month project, supported by Plan International, aimed to reduce child marriage and early pregnancies through community engagement and advocacy in Tanzania, Malawi, Zimbabwe, and Zambia. It involved traditional leaders, youth, and law enforcement to foster action and create local bylaws, SOPs, and monitoring tools. Achievements included increased community action and legal frameworks, alongside surpassing targets for birth certificates and influential opinion leaders. Challenges involved inconsistent messages and coordination gaps, but lessons emphasized sustained norm deconstruction, community-led action, and continuous engagement for long-term change.
