FOCEP focused on strengthening smallholder rice farmers' organizations in Kilombero District to boost incomes by 30%. Through capacity building, linkage facilitation, and communication strategies, it improved farmers’ access to financial services, information, and markets. The project saw increased organization membership, better service access, and higher production and household income. Key challenges included translating access into effective utilization, formalizing partnerships, and ensuring financial sustainability. Lessons underscored tailored capacity building and the need for continued support. The initiative successfully enhanced farmers’ organizational strength and economic resilience.
